This morning after my prayer time I was sitting quietly, thinking and I heard Holy Spirit whisper “Get Ready for The Set Up.” At the Sister Circle Retreat this past weekend- Holy Spirit said to me “Turning Point Write This Day Down.
In a few days Black Girl Candle Company will be taking what looks like a step back. We are moving next door to our former location- the small studio at 2459 Suite D. Corporation Parkway. Burlington 27215
Trust me I’ve felt every emotion with this move, everything from fear, to shame, to feelings of inadequacy and extreme disappointment in myself.
But can I share a word to encourage you this morning- just in case you find yourself having to go back into a place God has delivered you from....Sometimes you have to step back to move forward.
In Luke 5- we see Jesus get into Simon/Peter’s boat and begin teaching. Afterwards He told him to Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.
But Simon answered Master we have toiled all night an caught nothing (2) Nevertheless at your word I will let down the net.”
This word blessed me so this morning.
Simon had to go back into the place where nothing was happening. He had to go back out onto the water where he had just been all-night long
Toil means exhausting physical labor…no doubt he was tired, frustrated, disappointed, wet, smelling of bait and funk.
Yet he went back to the place of disappointment to receive a blessing.
Sometimes your setbacks can be a set up for your blessings. Don’t look at returning to a former space or place as failure. It could be the thing that needs to happen to propel you into GREATER. Don’t believe me read v6- And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So, they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats. Get ready for the Set Up. The Step Back is a Set Up for Your Step Up!
