And God Granted My Petition

And God Granted My Petition

Sometimes I wonder how long it was between the time Hannah prayed and God answered? In the 1s Book of Samuel Hannah was barren and wanted children. Ironically her husband Elkanah loved her so much he would give her a double portion and told her Why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?

Those are the same questions I’d submit to you today…

Sis why do you weep?

Bro, why do you weep?

We are not people who have no hope….. The promise shall come to pass

Why do you not eat?

Why is your heart grieved?

Delay does not mean denial.

Sometimes we get so focused on what we DON” T have that we lose sight of what we do have.

I know it can be difficult to find gratitude/thankfulness during hard times. There is no hard fast rule on how, when, or where are prayers are answered, but rest assured if you’ve prayed it- God heard it!

Hannah declared in v27- after giving birth and weaning Samuel- For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted my petition which I asked of Him.

I pray today is a petition granting day for you!

Let’s pray- Lord, I’ve looked for the promise so long that I’ve gotten lost in the process. Help me to refocus my time and attention on what I do have, instead of becoming disillusioned in what I don’t have. In Jesus name, Amen.
